Stop Smoking Therapy
How many sessions will I need?
To just give up smoking you really only need one session.
Registration
It is best clinical practice to take a brief medical and social history - the answers you provide will help to determine if there are any other matters that need to be addressed. Although to cease smoking only one session is required, several sessions may be appropriate for you. Smoking may only be one of the symptoms...
If you have been smoking over many years (i.e. started as a teenager) then it may be of great benefit to address issues that may have set you on the way to smoking. Depression, anxiety, shyness, personal conditions, or social smoking/drinking also suggest that you could benefit from more than one session to address these (often hidden) other issues which affect your life in so many ways.
How long will a Stop Smoking Hypnotherapy Session Take?
The session lasts between 60 to 90 minutes.
We will make use of your reasons to give up, and provide posthypnotic support for your decision to stop smoking and be tempted to start up again.

Turn up for your appointment.
Will I gain weight afterward?
Triggers to stop you reaching for the next best snack after you have given up smoking are built in the hypnotherapy session.
What can I do to help myself after the session?
You will be provided with a set of very easy to use self-hypnotic instructions. That usually re-inforces your own will and decision and prevents you from re-lapsing.
How much does it cost?
You should really make giving up smoking worth your while. And that decisions should be expensive enough to make you think twice about wasting your therapy fee and your effort. After all, you are making yourself a precious gift. If you pay little, the temptation to take up smoking again (because you can afford to have another session) is so much greater.
The cost of the single STOP SMOKING session is £220 (inclusive of VAT).
Note:
several STOP SMOKING sessions do not necessarily guarantee success, they simply cost more and prolong your effort - less is really more in this instance.
if you want to give up then there is nothing stopping you to give up at once - why prevaricate?
you quit with the session - that's that!
YOU CAN DO IT!
Is there any guarantee?
The success rate of the single STOP SMOKING session is very high.
As far as I know from feedback, none of my clients have returned to smoking.
The Healing Practice cannot give any guarantee for any treatment, there are just too many unknown factors in life. Again, note that it is not the therapist who cures you. The therapist provides hypnotic guidance and the framework under which you help yourself.
Clinical hypnotherapy provides the highest success rate to STOP SMOKING .
The results of numerous trials both in Europe and the USA have suggested that hypnosis is a very effective way to stop smoking (New Scientist 31.10.92. page six). The results of trials have shown that self-induced trance and listening to hypnosis tapes has a 30% success rate. Aversion therapy is 25% successful. Acupuncture is shown as 24% effective. Nicotine gum trials were 10% effective and nicotine patches 20% (New Scientist 13.02.94). My most recent long-term (after 3-years) follow up data indicates an 88% success rating for Stop Smoking.
Do you really want to stop smoking?
It is important that you do actually want to stop smoking. Hypnosis makes it a lot easier to stop smoking. Have you ever lost your temper with someone and felt shocked with the pictures in your mind? Have you ever daydreamed about doing something that is just ‘not you.’ You tell yourself that you are going to do it yet all the time there is another part of you that knows it’s really nothing but a fantasy and that very same part has the final say in that reality. It’s also like that with stop smoking when you make statements such as “this is my last cigarette.” Yet before long that ‘voice’ in the background provides you with so many excuses to have yet another cigarette. Then your mind creates that sense of something missing (loss) that you rationalise into the belief that it is due to the powerful addictive properties of nicotine.
The drug controls you. Nicotine is the most addictive substance - Stop Smoking.
